Steve Mitgang, CEO
A digital technology visionary and proven business builder, Steve is known for creating
and managing products and companies for high growth and market success. He has secured
funding for and matured technology startups; steered mergers and acquisitions; conceived,
launched and directed a multi-billion-dollar internet advertising platform, and
driven companies to success by forging rewarding partnerships, acquiring top talent
and building winning teams. Prior to SmartDrive, Steve was CEO of Veoh, the Internet
television company now part of Qlipso, and before that he served as Senior Vice
President of Yahoo!'s advertising products, platforms, and services. Steve holds
a degree in architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.
Jason Palmer, President
Jason Palmer brings over 20 years of leadership delivering products to market for
fast-growing technology companies such as Qualcomm, Now Software, Clientele Software,
and Tut Systems. Prior to joining SmartDrive, Jason was the Vice President of Product
Management and Marketing at Webtrends, Inc, responsible for defining the product
development and go-to-market strategies for the award-winning Marketing Lab suite
of digital marketing solutions. As a founding member of the 800.com Electronics
management team he pioneered selling consumer electronics online, growing the company
to $50 million in four years. He is a graduate of Oregon State University with degrees
in Marketing and Economics.
Dan Lehman, VP Finance and Corporate Development
Dan brings over 15 years of experience in finance, mergers and acquisitions, and
private equity in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Prior to joining SmartDrive, he was
Director of Mergers and Acquisitions at Viaspace, Inc., a $150 million public technology
company. Previously, Dan was a key member of the Strategy and Corporate Development
team at Case Corporation, a $6 billion manufacturer of heavy equipment, and was
responsible for all acquisitions, recapitalizations, divestitures, and joint ventures
for the company's worldwide operations. Dan earned a BS in Information Systems from
Kettering University (formerly General Motors Institute) and an MBA from Harvard
Business School.
Dane Smith, VP Worldwide Sales
A technology industry veteran with more than 25 years’ experience in global enterprise
sales, Dane Smith’s resume includes senior executive positions with such industry
leading companies as Sun Microsystems, where he spent 13 years in various management
roles, and VMWare. Prior to SmartDrive, Dane served as SVP Sales, Marketing and
Business Development at hydrogen fuel cell pioneer Clearedge Power, Inc., helping
establish Clearedge as one of the world’s fastest growing Clean Technology companies.
As Vice President and General Manager at VMWare, Dane was a key member of the executive
team behind that company’s 2007 initial public offering, playing a decisive role
in the development and valuation of one the fastest growing software companies in
history. Dane earned a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University.
Mark Freitas, VP Product Management
As Vice President of Product Management at SmartDrive, Mark is responsible for delivering
a superior customer experience through product strategy, definition, and development. He
brings over 15 years of experience in product management, marketing, and services delivery
at leading technology companies and over 7 years in fleet operations and safety. Prior to
joining SmartDrive, Mark was the Director of Product Management at DriveCam responsible for
the company’s Driver Risk Management programs for families and commercial fleets. Before
joining DriveCam, he worked at Hewlett-Packard managing joint marketing and product
development partnerships with top-tier service providers. Mark began his career at KPMG.
Mark earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering at Brown University, a Masters in Applied
Economics at the University of Michigan, and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Choo Kim-Isgitt, VP Marketing
A marketing veteran with more than 20 years’ experience guiding some of the most
well-known brands in the technology sector, Choo Kim-Isgitt has devoted her business
career to creating high visibility for innovative technology companies. As SmartDrive’s
Vice President of Marketing she is putting her strategic vision and tactical expertise
to work directing the company’s global branding, corporate positioning, product
marketing, campaigns and channel communications. Prior to SmartDrive, Choo was senior
director of corporate marketing for M86 Security, a leading Web and email security
software company, where she was responsible for branding, online strategy and execution,
product launches and global marketing campaigns. Other marketing leadership roles
included positions with IBM, Inc. and Websense, Inc. Choo earned a B.S. degree in
advertising from the Univ. of Texas and an M.B.A from the Fuqua School of Business
at Duke University.
Wendy Wyatt, VP Client Services
As Vice President of Client Services, Wendy Wyatt is responsible for delivering an
exceptional client experience through service delivery, ongoing account management
and technical support. A technology industry veteran, Wendy brings over 20 years
of experience leading IT, technical support, product management and service delivery
teams. Prior to SmartDrive, she was Sr. Director of Client Services for PatientSafe
Solutions, where she created, led, and directed technical support, integration and
manufacturing for the medical products company. In her career she also held senior
positions in product management, development, and technical services with Open Text
and Bluebird Systems. Wendy earned a BS in Computer Information Systems from California
State Polytechnic University.
Slaven Sljivar, VP Hardware and Analytics
Slaven has over 15 years of experience in Corporate Finance, Business Consulting,
IT Management, and Engineering. Prior to joining SmartDrive, he was an Analytics
Manager at General Motors, where he was responsible for leading data warehousing
and business intelligence initiatives, analyzing vehicle portfolio profitability,
and consulting to various internal groups including OnStar. Previous to his role
at GM, Slaven worked at Case Corporation as an IT Project Lead supporting Engineering
and Manufacturing operations. Slaven began his career as a Controls Engineer at
a systems integration vendor. Slaven holds dual BS degrees in Electrical and Mechanical
Engineering at Kettering University, Flint, MI (formerly General Motors Institute),
and an MBA at the MIT Sloan School of Management, Cambridge, MA.
Tom Tang, General Manager, China Operations
Tom Tang brings over 20 years of operations leadership for global technology companies.
including IBM Microelectronics Division, New Focus, and W.L Gore & Associates. Prior
to joining SmartDrive, Tom was the VP of Operation of Fiberxon; a leading fiber
optics company which was acquired by Source Photonics. Tom joined SmartDrive in
2005, and established SmartDrive Shenzhen with engineering and manufacturing practices.
Tom earned a BS in Engineering from Tianjin University in China, and an EMBA of
China-European International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai, China.
